Mass Premier Courts
2010 Spring & Fall AAU Program
Our unique "Home Base" program is the first
in the state. All of our teams operate
out of our facility
located in Foxboro on the Mansfield
town line minutes off the route 495/route 95 interchange.
Our entire program is designed to develop not only the
complete basketball player, but the complete student athlete as well. We
also firmly believe in stressing the importance of good sportsmanship through
competition. Our staff is held to the highest level of
professionalism.
All of our programs, their goals, objectives, as well
as player selection, will be constantly reviewed by our staff of coaches.

Fall Program
Our Fall AAU program is set up to be more of a
pre-season to our spring season.
There are not different levels of teams (Gold, Blue, and White)
as there is in the spring.
Instead each age group will have a minimum of 1 team and if there is
more than one coach for an age group and enough players try out more teams will
be made. The team that you try out
for in the fall of 2008 should be the same team that you will try out for in
the spring of 2009 (for both boys and girls). All teams will have optional practice one time per week. Please note
that the coaches listed on our coaches page are the
spring coaches and may not be an accurate list of our fall AAU coaches. They will play in four (4) tournaments
all in MA and RI.

Spring Tryout Format
:
This year we will have 2 separate tryouts for each age
group. Each age group will have a
tryout for the Gold Team first. Once the Gold Team has been selected a tryout
for the Blue Team will take place.
This allows players who do not make the Gold Team an opportunity to
tryout for the Blue Team. Please
take the time to evaluate your son or daughter and determine if they should
attend the Gold Team tryout or only attend the Blue Team tryout. It is
important to take into consideration that there is a higher commitment level
required for the Gold Team.
Participating on the Blue Team is still a very competitive experience
and players will still have the opportunity to develop through many tournaments
and practices. All tryouts for the
White Team will take place the same day as the Blue Team tryouts. Click either link to view our tryout
dates and times – boy’s
tryouts or girl’s
tryouts.
Spring Program
Gold Team
The Gold Team is the most competitive team at each age
level. Gold teams will be playing
in each tournament to win. It is
necessary for players who play on the Gold Team to be highly committed. Teams will practice twice a week and
practice participation will be expected (policy will vary depending on coach). Gold Teams are required
to participate in the state tournament.
Gold teams will often participate in tournaments outside of MA as well
(travel will vary depending on coach). Gold teams are for developed players
that are very serious and committed.
All Gold team coaches
will have a previous coaching background.
Some Gold team coaches will be paid (depending on age group). If a Gold Team qualifies for Nationals
the team will have a meeting with parents to determine appropriate travel plans
for Nationals. Our goal is to get
as many kids playing basketball and working on their game as possible.

Blue Team
The Blue Team is a competitive AAU team. Blue Teams will find a balance between
being extremely competitive in tournaments and developing players through
practice and game play. Blue Teams
will typically travel somewhat locally to off site tournaments (travel will
vary depending on coach). Blue
Teams do require a significant commitment level. Teams will practice twice a week (some
blue teams only practice once per week per coach decision) and practice
participation will be expected when available (policy will vary depending on coach). Blue Teams will be required to
participate in the state tournament.
If a Blue Team qualifies for Nationals the team will have a meeting with
parents to determine appropriate travel plans for Nationals. Our goal is to get as many kids playing
basketball and working on their game as possible.

White Team
A White Team will be created if a particular age group
has enough coaches and potential players prior to try-outs. The White Team will be focused on player
development. All tournaments will
be very local (mostly occurring at Mass Premier Courts). Teams will practice once a week and
participation is strongly encouraged (policy will vary based on coach). Players will develop
through practice participation and game participation – this will be the
emphasis of each White Team coach.

The Director of Our
AAU Program
Mike Vaughan is the director of our AAU Sanctioned
Program and is looking for AAU coaches to add to his philosophy that pushes
fundamentals, pushes players to give their best efforts each game and practice,
and focuses on teaching players how to play the game the right way.
Coach Vaughan's philosophy is proven to be successful.
He has taken nine teams in seven years to Nationals, finishing 12th in the summer
of ’04, in New Orleans. He has finished 2nd in Super
Regional’s twice, 2nd and 5th in the State Championships, and 2nd in
the New England's. Coach Vaughan is
currently the Mansfield High Boy’s Varsity coach where over the past two
seasons has gone 31-12.
Coach Vaughan feels that the AAU teams of Mass Premier
Courts will greatly benefit from playing in our state-of-the-art
building. "We own the court space, which allows us to develop teams
year round that can compete nationally, while also providing enough practice
time to help kids gain a greater chance of playing at the collegiate
level."

coach, or if you would like more information on our program, please email coachv@mpcourts.com.
